The website says you can pre-order for $499+ $20 shipping. If it is as good as it looks on the video, a bargain!
I wonder if it could keep up with a car doing a road course?

Air traffic control over certain venues is going to be interesting.
Skate parks, BMX tracks, Baseball & soccer fields, and ???

Battery life, vehicle speed, and communication range will determine application usefulness.

What about collision avoidance sensors.....trees, wires, buildings, other drones?

I know installing the tracker on one of my dogs would be interesting!

That's very cool! I don't know about following a car on a road course but it might be able to follow on an autocross.

It appears that would be very obtainable on a short course like Good Guys events. Just mount the tracking unit on top of the car.

Here's the tech specs: https://www.lily.camera/tech-specs/

20 min flight time and 2 hour recharge of the 'built in' battery is a problem.

Max speed 25 mph so wouldn't work on road coarse.

But, like it seems this is the first iteration so like with GoPro, there will have to be constant improvements so it could get there some day.

Seems like one hell of a fun toy, And Sieg, you are right, it would be very cool to attach to my dogs collar while they are out ripping around.

I saw that too. I also saw that it is a price before they are available. If you wait until they are released, price is $999.

Like Sieg points out -

What happens when youre wrecking some Class 5s and Lily Shot Lily leads itself right into a cliff face or tree branch?

Will the tracker lead you back to the Lily via an app or something?

If there's a hover feature, or even someone leading it by foot or bicycle, it would make for some super sick shots that would look a lot like a fancy tv show would have taken on a driveby or strategic parking job.

Does Lily have obstacle avoidance?

Currently, Lily does not have any obstacle avoidance capabilities. We have found that most outdoor activities do not need obstacle avoidance because Lily can follow the user's path. But again, there are no guarantees that Lily will not hit anything while it is following you. If Lily is about to hit an object you can press the middle button on the tracking device and Lily will stop, hold its position, and continue to film you.

^^^^from the website. Pretty sweet. They don't shop til Feb 2016 though.

but apparently the 25 mph speed limit is software limited. Hah. Track day camera for the win! I'll just hook up my HPTuners and remove that there governor! =p

Wonder what happens say - you're riding a bike - and go under a tree covered street. Does the Lilly recognize the trees and go under them - or just runs into them??

Kool as hell "gadget"!!!
