Default 5.3 Vortec pricing question

So after doing a bit of research I am leaning towards a 5.3 Vortec with a T56 swap in my 64 El Camino . My question is what a good price would be for a 5.3 motor and whether its worth it to buy one with the wiring harness and everything else or if I should just be looking for a long block ?

This guy buys totaled 99 and newer GM trucks and always has 100-125K mile setups for sale on Craigslist ...... https://boise.craigslist.org/pts/5033020015.html

Personally, I feel that the price on that ad is high. 5.3's are everywhere. Every yard with any size to its inventory has multiple 5.3's sitting on shelves, or still on the yard in trucks, or vans.
I sold a 2004 5.3 to a moderator on here a year or so ago, with no accessories, but complete, for $180.00. Ran great, but a little water was going somewhere, like a lot of LS engines. He installed it a couple months ago, and sure enough, runs great. It really boils down to mileage, and accessories on these units, but I'd say $500-$700 for a pullout 5.3 with 100kish miles...obviously lower miles, and the price goes up.

My Chevelle is old school... It has a belt driven power steering pump.

I agree, I bought mine complete with accessories and wiring harness with 90 day warranty for $550. I think the same yard sells them for $750 now but still cheaper then $1200. $1200 is WAY too high.
