Okay... That was ridiculous and in an awesome way.

36 minutes.........

That is the time it took me to install Holley's 1.875" stainless headers...on both sides. I pulled the turbos off, manifolds as well, and installed the passenger side first since there is no AC box currently in the way. I dropped this one in from the top. I did cut the ears off my 80e which makes install easier...FYI. Passenger side has an embarrassingly large amount of clearance and is still tucked within frame.

Moroso solid mounts with Car Shop 1" setback plates:

Mounted!!!!!

There is easily an inch or better around everything...better underneath.

Drivers side was just as easy...just had to bring it up from underneath. Only caution is that near the brake proportioning valve one tube is about .75" to 1" away from a line coming off it, but that is honestly plenty of room and can be increased if you tweak the line a little.

Ok so in summary, I feel pretty good with saying Holley's headers will work with 1" setbacks if you are using the solid mounts for sure. If you are using rubber I believe you will also be fine. I chopped off the ears on my trans prior to this install (previous attempt at fbody header repurposing). If you some how still have the AC box with these mounts (engine will hit suitcase fosho...then I think these headers will not interfere.

I'm honestly a little depressed that I am pulling the engine to install the rest of the holley kit since this setup fits so damn well. Hopefully Reassembly will go just as well!!!

Can you get a picture showing how far lower than the frame rails or front cross member do these headers hang?

Thanks...

I'm really curious to see how the LSA blower does on a 5.3. Even more with an LS9 setup on a 5.3 to see what kind of power that can make.
