The other HUGE difference at Laguna Seca is that the sound is portable and moves around - and is manned by the County not the track.

Funny how this sound thing came up... I was taking the
quiet car.. my Firebird... down to the gas station to fill it up
for the Marina event this weekend and barely got down the
street and the red lights lit up behind.... pulled over and
the Lady Cop said I was pulled over for a loud exhaust and
Bald tires... I did not want to let her know that the Hoosiers
were brand new with less than 20 miles on them.. fix it ticket

I was thinking the Pantera is a lot Louder.. may have to put
my quiet exhaust for running around and also some tires
with tread on them..

They have the fixed station on the right between T5 & T6 and someone who acts as a roving 'Sound Sniper' according to hearsay.

Default Laguna 105

Most will lift going up the hill to make sound
but sometimes get on it too early and pop the meter

The last version of my Falcon hit 92db at Laguna last year--I'm assuming I was pretty deeply into third gear going up the hill. I thought it was too loud, so the Chevy version will be quieter, somehow . . .

Yes they do Chad.... never on the first run groups of the day but after that yes. You'll need the same gear as the driver would be required to have for the run group you'd ride in, and you have to go check in and sign a waiver and get a wrist band.

Run group requirements:

Helmets: Snell SA2005 M2005 SA2010 M2010 (all groups)

Gloves (ALL groups)

Long sleeve shirts, long pants, adequate shoes / Driver’s suit for Blue group

I have a couple extra helmets if you need one... although usually a track will also have rentals... it's the gloves that can be a problem finding if you don't have them.
