Default Factory 69 Camaro in dash tach?

I'm looking at replacing the factory fuel gauge with a repro factory in dash tach and center fuel gauge in my stock x44 camaro interior. Anyone have any luck with the OER replacement tachs, or have done this, and is anyone using thiers with a full MSD setup? Thx

Question

Yes and Yes. I took out my factory 5000 tach and replaced it with a 8000 OER and it works fine 3 years now. It also hooked up to my MSD setup. I'm running a digital 6 with no problems. (Yet )

yes it is but I would suggest buying the little connector that hooks it all up as you can connect without using tach wires makes for a cleaner install.

Does the new tach have the stamped aluminum face with the brushed border and silkscreened numbers like orginal?
I bought a repro tach a few years ago and it had a plastic face with one sticker for the numbers and another sticker for the border. Looked like garbage.
I would like to get a 8k tach and 140mph speedo, but only if they look right.

I haven't picked it up yet - was looking at the Classic Industries unit 6469384.
