Oversized wheel legislation, HOAX!

I have read the article about supposed pending legislation which would apparently outlaw the use of oversized wheels and after some due diligence I have come to the conclusion that this article is a HOAX.

The suspicious thing about this article is that it does not cite any author of a bill or provide any bill number. In fact it does not provide any specific verifiable information of any kind. Typically a bill will be introduced by one or more members of Congress and any reference to said bill will contain the bill number and the name of the congressman who introduced it.

I have been unable to find any such bill existing on any reference list of bills pending before congress. In addition, SEMA Action Network lists no reference to any such bill on their web site and I am certain that SEMA would be all over a bill of this nature in the same way the NRA is all over gun legislation and stink is on a skunk.

After spending the better part of a day searching and finding no reference to this pending legislation anywhere other than the original story on racefactor.org I am convinced this story is a HOAX. If anyone has any verifiable information to indicate otherwise please share it with us.
