You're making good progress Joe, keep at it!

I forget, are you re wiring the car? If so, what kit? I've been looking in to the Ron Francis kits.

Thanks Jason,

Yes I took all the wiring out and will get a Ron Francis. I called them and they will give you a better selection than their vendors get (so to speak), you can specify different things for a harness that say you would order from Summit using the same part number.

I may get this one or the next higher priced one, depends on the needs of the system when I get there :-)

I've been working on a 68 to 69 tail light conversion on my 68 GT.

I never did care for the extra large tail lights on the 68.

Made a prototype sheetmetal piece to get close as possible for the 69 mounting.

Found the best location for it and held it temporarily with sheet-metal screws.

Mounted the 69 fender extension to check for fit.

Lens fits pretty good. I will fill in all the holes with muggy weld to delete the chrome trim.

I will modify this one and then make two final mounts.

The 69 tail light assemblies are installed. I still am not happy with the final results, back to the 18 gauge stash for another pattern.

I bit the bullet and bought a lower front drivers side quarter panel, and a trunk drop down. The amount of time it took to make the light mounts was more time than I had to spare, but I like fabrication.

I like the 69 lights much better than the 68 originals...
