True story.

1990 Barrett Jackson auction. Reggie was trying to beat me up on a COPO Camaro we had there. He wanted to buy it before it ran through, I kept telling him it was $50k or we were running it and see what it does (with reserve).

Reggie actually told me,

"Look man, a guy like you trying to do this little muscle car thing could benefit your buisness selling a car to me".

"Little muscle car thing", we had 2 truck loads of cars there!

I said, really? And who exactly are you? knowing full well who he was.

Well Im Reggie Jackson!

Im like, uh, football right, I mean Basketball!

His eyes got so big his entire face turned white, LOL!

I told him I was just f__king with him and let him know I saw little value in discounting the car the $10K he was asking in exchange for the future business benefit.

He bought the car, through the shoot at $48,500. But when the car had hit $45K, we announced it had hit the reserve which let everyone know the last bidder would be the owner. Sometimes this will push the bidding a bit when bidders KNOW they can own it instead of wondering if it even hit the reserve yet.

So when Reggie came over to sign in, he says, whats with this $45K ****? you told me $50K.

I guess that was the who you are price!

We did other business with Reggie through the years, but always through his boy Chip. LOL!

So if you are going all out and having a car built with all the modern tech. why use a carb???

With that said, I'm sure it will be a nice ride!!
