Default Headers for a '67 Pontiac with Pontiac power???

Any recommendations for exhaust headers for a '67 Pontiac Firebird still using a Pontiac engine???

Right now I'm leaning towards the Doug's headers, but it would be nice to find a set of stainless headers instead of steel headers with ceramic coating. . .

. . .car's getting set-up for Auto-X right now and hopefully there will be road course use in it's not too distant future as well.

Thanks!

Default Pontiac headers

Biggest problem with most Pontiac headers are
how low they hang... I have Dougs for my 70 bird
and they are way below the frame... if you can find
someone that has a set of the old HO tri-y headers
then coat them they are the best fit.. otherwise
you may have to have them made.. not really sure
about Dougs in a first gen but everything I have read
is noted above... there was a guy making tri-ys but he
got behind and finally disappeared

My 70 with Dougs but round port and 3 1/2" collectors

Thanks Panteracer. . .

. . .sounds like I will be buying the rear exhaust (Magnaflow???) and a set of header flanges (SS hopefully, I found some MS ones with starter tubes) and make the headers myself. . .looks like I'll be buying a set of those header construction helpers that Eastwood sells as well. . .

Mid-length headers are a sacrifice power wise but sure make these packaging issues much simpler. Just sayin...

Default Pontiac headers

There are several companies that make a cast iron
replica but updated of the old ram air headers etc
I believe Nightmare makes some...

Have you started making your own headers, or did you find some to buy?

I also have an 67 Firebird, I have Dougs, but they are uncoated, want some coated for less heat, and coated looks nice too.

I bought a set of coated Doug's headers. . .

. . .I have not installed them yet; things get pretty busy busy around the farm and cidery this time of the year.
