8000 rpm in a big block is some serious stuff..at least keeping it together very long anyways. It's only money!

It isn't much of a problem now with how much I've learned since my 396ci was built, never buy Keith Black pistons for starters.
That was the only thing that really went wrong with my 396ci.

But with this build I am going to try and use the Venola pistons that are in the 540 with some Eagle 6.6in rods, and a chromed journal 427 crank that's been laying around since the 396 and take my time putting this thing together.
