The most extreme example of a CAM legal first gen I am aware of is Mike Dusold's 67 Camaro. There is a Vorslag thread here somewhere of a wild first gen they are building as well but it hasn't been updated in a while. Mark Stielow has built several beautiful and functional first gens, each one better than the last and the builds are documented very well here. Mary Pozzi's Camaro is a 2nd gen but you can get some great ideas from her car as well.

In those examples above you will see a ton of work and cubic dollars spent plus some very good hands on the wheel as well. Stepping down a bit from the 6 figure builds, the Ridetech 48 hour Camaro is probably the fastest I can think of still on a stock front subframe. Most all run built LS power, a ton of aftermarket suspension gear front and rear and the widest wheel and tire combos they can fit under them.

The world is your oyster, all you have to do is open up your wallet and get to cutting...
