Don't put a snake in your trunk...or a cat. If it were me, I'd leave the hood and trunk open and the garage lights would stay on. I'd be looking for other areas of the garage that show signs of the critters and place the traps there. Maybe one inside the car up against the rocker and seat.

I worked for some friends parents and witnessed what mice can do when not dealt with right away. They had nested under the hood of a Bentley Azure and caused all sorts of electrical problems, to the point the car wouldn't drive. That was an easy fix...

If the car is complete and a driver, I'd be spending the money NOW on a professional. If its still a project, see above.
