This evening I dug up a stock C5 banjo bolt, and I think I found the problem. One of these things is not like the other.


I'm not sure exactly what these Earl's bolts are for, but they're certainly not for any application I'm interested in.

I'd recommend staying clear of PN 997517ERL

Small parts like these can often be found on Rockauto.com at quite good prices. I used two of the C6 banjo bolts recently and they were 1/2 the cost of other aftermarket pieces.
