I'm using the 4th gen steering column who's stalk mounted wiper switch, interestingly enough, shares the intermittent resistor values with the '99 - '07 Silverado wiper motor. I picked the motor from a junk yard for $15. It looks very similar to the DSE unit and does not have the 4th gen's park feature. Wiring it is also a no brainer if using a more modern column.

If appearance is your thing: I'm also relocating the wiper motor to the extreme drivers side of the firewall, hidden under the fender. I'm not sure if it's something you could do an an A body, but something to consider.
Solid info but , I believe you are forgetting the chevelles have the wipers parked or at least was an option hence why I'm going to use that one. Great info about the switches

I don't remember them having a similar park feature, but it's quite possible. It would be good to know if that behavior was due to a specific option.

Ryan, I had a Malibu that had the hidden wipers option. I've seen more flat hood cars have this option than SS cars. The cowl hood helps hide the wipers parked on the glass, instead of the stainless cowl plate.

I wonder if they were stock, I understood it as only SS'S could option hidden wipers and mailbu's couldn't option it . Then again I'm certain that I've been wrong once or twice before lol

I'm trying to find a better looking option for my car since I too have spent a lot of time cleaning up the underhood area. I do need the hidden park but I haven't seen anything I like other than the DSE with the hidden park and they have been out of those forever for my car. The late 70s F-bodys used hidden park as far as I know. Every TA I had used hidden park IIRC.

This the one of the last parts I have to buy to finish off my build. Any recommendations for a 78 TA?
