Because the customer wanted a lt4.
The Coyote is so huge and we would have had to do custom headers motor mounts and various other things and then you still don't get 650hp.
we may look at incorporating the parts need to do a Coyote in the future if we get some action on the chassis. but i can tel you that a traditional SBF or BBF will not fit with the rack placement so that is an issue.

Body work continues. We're using a flush mount Kindigit door handle and deleting the key hole. The handle is located below the body line now and will be centered in the silver stripe.

On the front fenders we raised the rear lower portion to line up with the running board and match the fiberglass rear fenders. A subtle mod that will clean up the bottom line of the truck.

Next up, the cancer at the drip rail line was cut out plus a little extra to make sure it's all gone.

Finally for now another subtle mod to the tailgate- the ribs and Ford logo are deleted and the outer vertical rails had material added to make them blend better than the original simple squared off shape. This theme will carry around to the side vertical rails, and in the process the hinges will be hidden.

What automatic did you chose behind the LT4 (a fantastic choice btw!)?

8l90, which should be a good fit in that truck, but man are they tall. The pan is at least 1.5" lower than the 4L80

I like where this is going. Nice job Ben and crew.

The first thing I think of is the cabs on trucks of that era are TINY. I couldn't even release the clutch on a friends truck without hitting the dash or wheel. I always wonder were people that much shorter back then?

The new 8 speed, and yea Donny is right the pan is DEEP but no lower than the frame rail. so it will work out nice.
using 2016 Mustang interior parts and seat. Tracy at Recovery room is doing the rest.

Gofast- Thanks! I can't claim to be a part of any of the cool work that's going into the truck outside of initial design and snapping the pics as it all unfolds. We've got a great crew here at our shop, they're all very talented in their specific duties, and just plugging along out of the limelight they don't often get the recognition they receive. Speedtech wouldn't be what it is without them.

Next on the list is doing some test fitting and mock up. Pictured are the rear tires in place, the front and rear tire sizes we're using on the truck, and finally the late model Mustang seats and console that are going in. This thing just gets cooler and cooler as it unfolds!
