Thanks!

Dustin's Firebird has the looks and backing that up it needed a reliable streetable and comfortable engine that could lay it down when the go pedal was pushed hard. As with many builds we do at our shop we installed the ultra reliable 525 hp LS3 GM crate engine. For this much smooth running power with a warranty this engine is a fantastic value.

This is where we're at with the build at this point. We have just a few more small things to do to it and then it's going back home to him. Dustin's a get his hands dirty true motorhead and had us take care of what he couldn't so that he could take it from there and wrap up the build in his garage at home. As he gets things assembled and all dialed in we'll follow up with the final pics. It all has turned out so nice and we're glad we've had the chance to help Dustin build his dream car. Stay tuned for more!

I just love 2nd gen Birds and you guys nailed this one. The stance is just right, and it looks like it means business. I cant wait to see more updates as he finishes it up.

Can you run less offset on the front wheels, or would that cause fender clearance issues?

Car looks awesome. Hope it doesn't take Dustin too long to finish.

Yes. One of our shop techs told me Dustin didn't realize they would be that far offset when he ordered them, there's too much pad on the back of the center. Nick Relampagos' "70 ZL1" Camaro also runs this ExtReme subframe set up with a 315 up front. There is a range of BS you can use, you have to factor in brake caliper clearance and whether you want to modify the outer lip area of the inner wheel tub at all if you want a deeper look. On average it's about 8" or so for an 11" wheel and a 315 tire to avoid outer lip area interference. In the second gen we've also fit 335s with some inner wheel tub mods.

Thanks Ben. The red one has better looking rims in my opinion. I appreciate the response and information

No problem. If you have any more specific questions, Jay our sales manager is building a pretty wicked 73 Camaro for himself, also equipped with an ExtReme subframe. He's always happy to share insight and what options are. Our number is 435.628.4300.

I believe you have to run inner fender mods with the 315's as well, Nick did (the Anvil ones).

I'd like to see some fiberglass or something on the market for these, as i too at some point will be doing this subframe, but will need new inners...

I know you guys have em for first gens (camaros) but, would really like to know what was done on that beautiful light blue 2nd gen (Ironworks one) for inners

I'm just going to cut my inners apart when I roll the fender lips so I can fit the 275s on the front. I figure who cares about a 79TA. There were over 100k built, lol.

don't know if anything has been done on the blue IW Camaro i know he sold it so maybe down the road.

We have talked about doing inners for the 2 gen but there are of course a couple different shapes the Camaro and the FB are different.
