Cause i dont think that you can run a 400 with a T-56 unless u get the flywheel that is like $400, and im not game for that.
I was thinking of running a McLeod bellhousing old school flywheel and LS1 clutch set up and LS1 T-56, would work on a 400.

There's no magic to the 400 SBC, other than the possibility of it being externally balanced, and there's no reason (or way?) to use a 1 piece rear main seal crank in an OEM 400 SBC block. You haven't told us what car all this is going into, so we're still flying a bit blind.
IMHO, the easiest and cleanest way to swap a T56 behind a traditional BBC/SBC, is to use an LS1 T56 and the McLeod adapter kit (1/2” thick adapter plate that goes between the transmission and the bellhousing, extended pilot bushing, and “collar” on which the throwout bearing rides -
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku). You will likely also need a transmission cross member, a shortened driveshaft, which you can have made up locally, and an electronic speedometer or an electronic to mechanical converter (pricey!).
Using these parts you can use any standard Chevy bellhousing (or a scattershield), the standard Chevy flywheel of your choice and the standard Chevy "push" style clutch setup of your choice. If your car came equiped from the factory with a mechanical clutch linkage, you can likely use that as well. If the factory didn't make a mechanical clutch linkage, or if you don't like mechanical linkages, you can use an hydraulic TO bearing.
The "pull" style clutch, which requires the expensive flywheel and clutch you're writing about is only needed with the LT1 T56.
If space in the tranmision tunnel is
REALLY tight, you could go with the McLeod Modular bellhousing, which moves the transmission closer to the engine (by 0.5") and tapers down in size that much faster.
If you tell us what car it's going into, we might be able to help more.
