typically this is normal. once you get the toe set you will see that there is about. 1/2 to 3/4" of thread engagement. this is the way unisteer designed them and the way they produce them. we have never seen any issues with this in the last 10 years. we have asked them to lengthen the tie rods to no avail. maybe your contact there has a better explanation?
