I have a 6.0 ltr iron block in the 99 T/A in the attachment below. It makes 500 RWHP N/A and 750 RWHP on the bottle and runs 5.9X to 6.0X in the 1/8th all day long. The difference in weigh of the blocks at this RWHP level is negligible. I went with the iron block because I can throw as much nitrous at it as I want and don't have to worry about hurting the motor.

It takes about .005" milling of the block deck to remove 1cc of volume. It takes .007" milling to remove 1cc from an LS1 head
