Pictures would tell a lot of what other surprises are there.

mini-tubs are 40 Hours

the rest of what you described would be at least that

the surprises could be all that & more

wild guess 100 hours x shop rate. Could be more depending on what is uncovered, plus the "while I'm here BS". For Austin area you have JCG and Hammerfab.

Yeah, I know it's a pretty broad range of time/cost. Just trying to get started and decide how much I am willing/need to have outsourced.

When its time for the "quoting" portion what is the best way? Load the car up and take it in for a visual quote or just rely on detailed pictures?

I believe you will be better served by two trips to paint jail:
Please consider mocking everything up after sheet metal work
but before final paint. Down to engine install and everything.
I am friends with Kyle Tucker and he insisted I mock everything up in primer down to A/C relays.

Think about it..,
You make one mistake with final build, and then paint repairs..,
Back to paint jail anyway.

Thanks for listening

I think you are right, and two trips would be the safer option. I have been weighing the pros and cons of each, and putting that against the fact that I am about to lose my place to work on it until a new house/shop is built and "storing" it at the body shop. But I am not uber concerned with a high end show car level paint job when finished, really just more of a clean driver.

Any other recommendations for a shop in the Austin area? I'm not sure that I am quite to the JCG or Hammerfab level. I would really like some first hand experience before I commit to anyone.

colour house of texas is another. he used to run the paint shop at best of show in ca. You can call SW at elite and ask who he uses. If you want to look in the DFW area I can rattle off several more.

If you post some pictures of the underside interior trunk etc you will get better help on guessing what needs to be done probably.
