Default Minimum Tire Clearance?????

I saw a thread about this a while back, maybe someone can point me to it because I can not find it. Otherwise, can someone help me? I am currently taking measurements in anticipation of my Moser 12-bolt purchase. I have 12" of space in the fender well to work with, and I would like to use a 275/35-20 in the rear (10.9" width) leaving me ~.50" of clearance on each side of the tire. I don't plan on taking my car to the track, but may drive the car hard from time to time. Is this enough clearance to account for tire buldge, etc.?

Thanks

I am going to narrow the rear by 1" and run a 20" X 10", so I guess that would be 4.75 backspace....Is that correct?

Sorry 1" was a little ambiguous....That is 1" per side, so that would make the total width 58" (2"shorter than the stock 60")
