It was probably ahead of its time. People like to be different and it might sell well today. I was a tech when it came out. I actually PDI'd and test drove them new. I do agree, it's an ugly SOB. I do have to say that some of the new stuff coming out isn't much better. How about the 2022 Tundra? The front end on that thing is atrocious.

the new tundra is ugly. as are all the lexus cars with the giant grilles.

Something that has always baffled me, car design and what goes to production.
I know they use focus groups and designs go through a million revisions. They absolutely never look like the concept.
I honestly think the new Corvette is the Aztek of sports cars. Giant oversized wheel openings, sharp angular lines everywhere with no flow, a design that was 10 years old the day it came out. Incredible engineering and tech, but nothing that reflects the beauty and history of the original...and there are sooo many talented designers at GM, a true shame.
