Default Remy and I are back in the garage ( 05-30-22 )

Remy and I are back in the garage

Working on routing the Vintage Air Coolant line using the Mag Daddy Line clamps.

I also moved the valve from in the inside of the car to the cowl as it will be much easier to service if I am have to replace it.

I made this little mock up bracket to stabilize the valve

While I am here I also routed all of the extra wire from the Holley ECU to the front of the car.

Vintage Air wires that will be eventually connected.

I used the heat shrink spade connectors instead of adding heat shrink tubing.

AC Lines added into the mix

You know the bracket I made ... well that was became useless when I ran the AC lines as there just wasn't enough room.

These cloth Velcro wire ties work really nice during mock up and they come in multiple lengths and they also offer more aggressive Velcro closure.

I need this fitting so I can remake the one AC line as I plan to reroute it in front of the battery instead of under the tray.

Coming along nice. This is tedious work, but the satisfaction of knowing it was done correctly is worth it in the long run.

Morning Daniel,

Thank you for the kind words and I am hoping that 99% of what I am doing is correct. I have made a couple mistakes along the way and thankfully I have had fellow board members and good friends make suggestions that make more sense.

Looking great, I’m gonna have to get some of those mag daddy holders. I can use those in a lot of areas on my car.

They are not cheap but man do they work great. You can play with the harness till you get it exactly where you want it and then your done. I have considered a small dab of panel bound once I am happy with the final location of each of the mounts.

You're welcome and always glad to share the knowledge that I have been exposed to along the way.

Default Trying to find the easy way out (( 06-05-22 ))

So I am running the DSE wiper harness under the steering column so it looks somewhat factory. However I am trying to come up with a solution to retain the line clamp. Since the hardware isn't a machine thread there really isn't a nut available. In the end I should have just drilled out the holes and tapped them for an actual bolt and then I could just use a nut & washer in the engine bay.

Attempt #1 License plate nut. -- Fail

Attempt # 2 I forgot what these are called. -- Fail

They kinda work but not really

In the end I am just going to drill & tap the holes and do it the right way.
