Another issue that popped up recently that others should think about when installing coil-over shocks in the front of the car......In the stock configuration the coil spring sits on the lower control arm and the top of the spring is seated in the inside of the frame.........When switching to coil-overs all the weight of the car is now carried by the top of the shock.......and that load is now carried by the old upper shock mount.......See where I'm going......LOL......[IMG][/IMG]

Had to take it to a Frame shop to get it pulled back into position, they welded it but when I got back home I was still uncomfortable with the situation so I made up some 1/8' thick gusset places and welded them in on both sides..... Just adding some more info out here for others to think about if you are in the same situation

Car runs good Ken! I've seen that failure on the frame before.
