Default Hydroboost and Manual Steering

Hi..I've installed hydraboost brakes and power steering on my 68 Camaro. I've exhausted all avenues with relation to power steering box hoses and only have 1/4" clearance between the headers and power steering box fittings.
I don't wish to modify my coated headers, I'd thought about slipping spark plug boot protectors over the fittings but I'm worried it's not going to be enough.
I'm about to just switch back to a manual steering box and plumb the other outlet on the hydraboost back to the reservoir.
I'm up for input or suggestions at this point.
Thank You
