After getting the mounting position of the cooler, I had to find a way to route the lines. The Command decision was made to use bulkhead fittings through the core support.

Here goes nothing!!

Now to get from Point A to Point B….

Didn’t turn out too shabby if you ask me.
And yes, I did all that without removing the grill.

I went ahead and upgraded the front suspension even more. I picked up a set of Global West tubular A arms and Viking coilovers. Man, what a difference!

Future plans will be to reinforce this ‘62 frame hiding in the back forty to eliminate a lot of the flex. I am considering the current frame under the car as the “mock up” frame.

The cooler did turn out well. Good choice with the bulkhead fittings. It is very clean looking.

Thank you, Trey and Scott! I hope it will help get some longevity out of the 4L60E.

For my next trick, I wanted to mount the Vintage Air controller. I was trying to decide on mounting it on the “not there yet” center console.

Or dare I cut a hole in the dash and put it here.

A Command Decision was made and I decided the dash was going to make a nice home for it. Wish me luck!

Not too shabby if you ask me.

I got the controller wired up and the trinary switch sorted out so it would play nice with the Holley system.

IT WORKS!!!!

I don’t know about you all, but I’m not a fan of the vents that come with the Vintage Air kit. They just look too much like an afterthought.

So, I purchased some vents for a Camaro and commenced to mock them up for the dash.

I did not get a before pic of how the bezel sat against the dash, but let’s just say it took some massaging to get the contour right. I’ll try to remember to get one before I get the driver’s side done.

Finished product….

Big question now is do I paint the bezel to match the dash and leave the vent chrome or do I leave it all chrome. Thoughts?

If the paint match is on point, paint the housings if you feel the 'all chrome' housing is too much.

But if the color is even slightly off, it would be an eyesore & bug the sh!t out of many/most.

Looks good/decent in the posted image.

Agreed. I like your idea of painting the housing if you can do it correctly. It looks nice all chrome. Mismatching the paint will look worse.
