Should have been more specific in my original post - I believe I've got a pretty good understanding of the the pros with aluminum, from what I understand an all aluminum BBC s/b approximately comparable in weight to a SBC. I'm planning on going with an all aluminum BBC for my project and was interested in anyfeed back on potential negatives I may not have taken into consideration for this project. It is the typical PT 69 camaro with AC and 6 spd, C5 clip, and DSE quadralink 9" rear. Appreciate any feedback of links to info - Thanks in advance.

appart from having to use de-mineralized water in your coolant (which i think most of us are willing to accept)... there are no negatives.. (appart from price perhaps)

You SHOULD use distilled water for iron blocks as well (I don't always, escpecially when I'm leaking/burning a lot of coolant... )
