Default Is this worth it?.. 70 Chevelle.

I found a CLEAN 70 Chevelle Malibu close to my house without an engine.
it was an original 454 engine car with good doors, floors, and pans
the interior is there and in fair shape with some sort of racing bucket seats.
the chrome is in VERY good shape. the only few negatives are the front glass is cracked and the hood needs to be replaced there is very little rust in the wheel wells..

i talked to the guy and he said he used to drag the car.. but not hard.. i could tell from the doors when i opened them and shut them.. they close perfect!

now im concidering picking it up.. he offered me a VERY cheap price.

i probably will put in another 454 and flip it..

is it worth it? .. do these yeild a deicent price for a cloned ss or just throw in an engine and flip?

here it is..

Glass should not be a problem. I installed one last summer for a customer. Buying the car for the doors and chrome is worth it

I say throw another 454 in it, clean it up, put some new wheels, hood, windsheild on it, and flip it. I am no expert but I would think you should be able to at least double you money, even with the investment you will need to make for parts.

Wink

I'll play Devils Advocate here....

Wouldn't it have to be an SS car to be an original big block car?

Rear wheel wells have been modified.

Hood has a kink at the hinges.

Right front bumper is pushed in under the head lights.

That is just a quick observation, but the rear quarters should be checked out pretty thorough, IMO.

For the price, I think you are getting some nice metal, but I'd make sure that you are getting what the seller claims. I have been known to make some inpulse buys and wished that someone would have been an extra set of eyes for me.

Good luck!

Randy

For $1500, I'd be all over that car.
