Default Is this going to be a problem?.. some input fellas..

alright so i got the Moser 12 bolt rear end with 3:73 gearing..

but my man David at RKK told me that the gearing will be revving the hell out of my stock turbo 350 tranny.. seeing as i have to drive it home about 40 miles when im through.. eek..

we have another end there with 3:55 gears but figured that it wouldnt be that much of a diffrence..

anyone running the 3:73 gearing with a stock turbo 350?

im planning on the 4l60E soon but my cashish has taken i beating as of the latest upgrades..

i wish i thought it through better..

anyone can give a little light?
any suggestions or should i just tow it?

thanks fellas!

Changing from a 3.73 to a 3.55 will change the rpm by around 200 rpm. Drive it home man. Their are alot of guys driving around with your situation.

yea i was hoping that it wasnt like im going to blow my tranny and kill my 406.
my wheels are 18x10s in the rear with 265 35 18s..

so should i stick with the 3:73s or go with the 3:55s?

im probably going to roll out at Grandma speed..

A 3.73 gear was standard in 1969 Z28s, 100s of thousands of pick up trucks have been built with 3.73s, We just sold a 84 Monte Carlo SS with factory 3.73s, and have a 78 Z28 with factory 3.73s. None of these cars had overdrive. If it was OK for the General, it is OK for you.

She is going to turn 3200 or so at 70MPH, no big deal

I think we might have gotting confused a little when we were talking about this saturday your RPMs will be around 3000 or above with the turbo 350 @ 65mph.
With a 4L60e your RPMs should be around 2000 to 2200 @65 in overdrive.
An that is good cruzzing with a 400sb chevy with the cam that you told me you have. 480/480lift 292/292
Keep in mind this is a short rod 400sb, RPMs kill the Hell out of them. Lots of load on the piston skirts.
This is why i brought up the other Gear not that big of a jump but every little bit helps.
Sorry for the confusion.
