Default Dropping in a 454

Scored a great deal on a crate 454 with edelbrock goodies in a rust bucket donor car last week.

this week it's going in my Monte. should be a noticable difference from the "Hecho en Mexico" crate motor the last guy had put in there.

anyone looking for a 350? i also have a turbo 400 to get rid of.

this 454 is a 12550313 4-bolt block with 10114156 118cc oval heads.
it has an eddy performer RPM intake, 750 eddy carb, R.V. cam (not sure of specs), and crane gold series 1.7 roller rockers. this is a hydraulic flat tappet motor by the way.
Can anyone tell me about how much power i have here??

thanx in advance.

you aer propably somwhere arround 300 hp.. the round port 10114156 heads arent horsepower heads, they do however deliver diesel like torque from almost idle..

if it were me id replace the heads with a pair of RHS rectangular port heads and a cam in the comp magnum 270-280 range, that will give you arround 500-550 Hp depending on compression, exhaust and so on..

yeah, that sounds like a good idea on the heads.
although for around town, some low end torque is nice to have.

you would believe the piece of just wagon i got this awesome motor from.
you could stick your arm through the rust holes. but when you pop the hood, you see this massive 454 with eddy goodies and gold series crane rockers like the thing belongs in a chevelle.
