I dropped the Boze wheels off at the UPS store the evening. I can't say I was happy to see them go. They sure did gleam in the store. I'm sure many of you are wondering if I have a screw loose. The fact of the matter is I've changed my ways throughout the build of this car. It started out as just a fairly stock restoration, then I saw the pro touring stuff and wanted the look. Now I'm all about performance. Those wheels aren't the optimal choice performance wise for my car. The fronts weren't wide enough to take advantage of my front subframe and the 19's are heavy out back. The compound wasn't as soft as I would like either. I've got to be fairly responsible to myself. The new ZL-1 build goes a little beyond that. I have a brand new radiator on the way and my current clutch won't work. Of course that's just a small part of the snowball. The wheels were collecting dust and hadn't been on since June so they went down the road. Sure the car was designed after those wheels but I've grown to like the new look better. It's the feel it give the car. I may eventually brush all the chrome on the outside of the car. That will be down the road. Plus Frank @ Prodigy Customs cuts me some killer deals on wheels and tires. If I had a second set of wheels, I'd want A6's for autocross at this point. I don't plan on driving from here to Maine in this car. The R888's will be fine for what I have planned for the street and track.

Good thing you bought that truck at the rate you are unloading and loading stuff lately----

Now that the engine is coming along nicely, I'm starting to get motivated to get back out in the garage. I'm currently working on the AC/Heat installation. I designed some custom condensor brackets the other night and they are in the works at my trusty water jet company. They should be pretty trick. I just wasn't happy with the flimsy, cheasy ass brackets. I want something more supportive and clean of course.

Last night and this morning I worked on plumbing the unit under the dash. While it sounds simple, it's quite the head scratching dilema. Both heater hose and one AC connection is on the back side of the unit wedged between the firewall and unit. It's not extremely spacious under there either. Luckily I had already figured out how to mount it and had that set up in the past. I didn't want the heater control valve in the engine comparment and I wanted it to be fairly easy to connect all four connections on both sides of the firewall. This was the cleanest and most servicable way I could come up with. All lines will come straight out and wrap up around the front and or side. All the connections will be made to the unit prior to installation and then it should be fairly easy to make the connections at the firewall. The hoses will be out of site from teh passenger seat and outside the car. On the engine side all all four will be at the same angle in parrelel and go up through the fender and to their respective places. They are angled more towards the fender than they look.

Nice set up Todd. It should be a nice, clean install too.

Thanks guys Jason is plugging away on the engine. He was already porting the heads and had the decks machined. He also spec'd the cam and has ordered it. Last time we talked he was on schedule for February. I'm sure I'll have some photos next week sometime.
