Reason I asked was I just ordered a mcleod SFI bellhousing for my car and it seems to be a universal unit and it has starter provisions on both sides which can effect your exhaust routing if you install one at a later date.
Steve has one on Penny and he said it make the driverside exhaust routing a bit tricky.
I've read some disturbing things about the late-model F-body version of the McLeod SFI bellhousing over on LS1Tech.com - seems there are some unexplained issues with alignment or something else damaging the trans.
In my case, I decided to use the stock bellhousing with a tailored bellhousing blanket from these folks:
The blanket is probably not technically NHRA legal, nor is it probably as absolutely safe as an SFI bell, but it's certainly safer than nothing and has the additional advantages of much lower weight and no exhaust clearance issues ...
The motor is completely finished and set in the car, ready to fire. Working on the power steering, Hydroboost, and fuel system plumbing. I have the computer, harness, radiator hoses, etc, everything I need to fire it up. It won't be long now, but I doubt I'll push to fire it before Power Tour. I'm pretty stoked, had to share a few pics.
Jim, I fab'd the intake plumbing with 4" mandrel bend steel. I spray bombed it satin to see if I wanted to go that route or possibly silver. After seeing it in satin, I'll have a friend of mine do a little body work to it and spray it.
Tony, there's a breather in the valve cover that will be plumbed to the remote breather/separator tank.

That's what I want to do as well, but not sure if I can package a breather tank and still keep the fire wall uncluttered with everything else that is going on. I can't put it next to the headlight due to the IC plumbing...time will tell I guess.
