Really nice car. I do like the primered-look and I plan to do the same with my own car once I get close to where I can actually drive it. Then it is possible to fix little flaws, upgrade some stuff etc. and then give it the shining finish.

Dark satin gray sure does look absolutely bad-ass!

Thanks guy's

Todd, Matt I look forward to seeing you guys and your car's on Sunday. Hopefully the NMRA guy's let me park at the event and not in the street with my garage primer job

[QUOTE=69MSA;357932 I remember my first track outing. I finished dead last on the autocross, so maybe I can give you some pointers, on second thought, maybe I shouldn't

Matt[/QUOTE]

I will take anything pointers I can get , LOL. Like I said I should make you boy's look really good. I have no dreams of being close to anybody. I really need better rear shocks and sway bars, but I am a little burnt on spending money so I will put it off till I learn and get more seat time.

It's just fun to drive. I ventured out on the 91FWY (always a zoo) this am for a 80 mile round trip and ran like a charm. Just trying to get more miles on it so I can mash the pedal a little more

Thanks. I am glad I did it this way also as there are some things that I would have messed up if it was painted. The more you take it apart and put it back I get better at it. Don't get me wrong as I wished it was finished and painted.
I really am thinking A/C and heat would be nice as I enjoy driving it more than I thought. I am not sure yet but I kinda wished I went with a 6 point roll bar inpalce of the full cage. The 5 way harness is a PITA running to the store etc. If was just a roll bar I would put morris 3 way belts in it. All those options are still there so we will see.

Looking really nice Tom, I have planed on doing the same as you did. Get it altogether and then sort it out than blow it all apart to paint it. Can't wait to here how you do at California Speedway, good luck

Yesterday I made out to the Hotchkis autocross and had a good time. Car ran good. My wife and kids were there on my first few runs so here are what pictures and a short video I have. I am glad they stopped by because I never found time to take any pictures myself.

I had a few goals one of which was not to spin out and make an azzhat out of myself on my first ever time autocrossing. Most had already had 15+ runs from the day before but they still let us walk the track on Sunday. I was walking with Rob from Hot Rod and his advice was to just drive it slow the first few times to get the nerves down. I knew he was speaking from prior knowledge as I recalled his turn 2 off track exp at the 2009 OUSCI. Well I never really got the nerves down but I also never spun out either. My first few runs were like 41.xx seconds and then 40.60. Sometimes I forgot to look and never saw the complete list as I cut out about 4 o'clock prior to awards ceremony. Then Matt (69MSA) came over and rode with me a few time and also took me around in his sweet 69which helped. I am not the best student but with Matt's help I ran a 39.20. He showed a few things how I was taking corner's wrong. I did get one of his tip's but there were others that I honestly would forget but a big thanks to Matt for taking the time The 39.20 was still way off the pace as the fast cars with street tires 36.xx with alot of others running 37 thru 39's. I think 73CPCAMARO ran a 34.xx with hoosiers or something. What a nice car that is. I think I will be able to focus better next time. My short list is better tires (200 tread wear) and a more aggressive alignment. I tried the brake stop a few times but never a full run. It just did not feel right to do yet. The car has about 300 miles on it so I made up my mind to sit that event out till I get a better feel for the car. The seats combined with the down bars make it a little hard to get in out but once your in it feels good. The Kirkey seats sit nice and low with the cage tucked high. I had no problem with helmet hitting bars. All in all I am happy, slow but happy Below is my first ever autocross run. Believe it or not it seems much faster driving it then it looks.

Car looks great Tom.. . Im sure it was a blast just getting it out on the open road. For me that seems to be what I like best. You did real good for the first time out on the autocross. I have never done it before and feel like Im gonna be a tool but oh well...gotta start somewhere!

Tom, congrats man! Car looks great out there and that looked like a great rookie lap to me. And it's always good to shake it down a bit and drive her home with little to no issues eh?
