Yesterday Scott amused himself by making blocks...

Blocks that got welded into the rockers and the place formerly known as rear frame rails. This gives a solid mounting point for the sub frame tie ins and the new rear frame rails that will need to be dissected to fit the IRS.

Stay tuned for the next episode of "As the wire spool turns".

it's always a pivotal time in a project or even mini-project, when you stop cutting and start adding.

They definitely look beefy enough.

Giffin sent pics of the reciprocating assembly for the "rpm" motor. They are so very pretty.

Since we posted the engine porn shots, Scott felt he had to one up Giffin.

The IRS is in and level... if it passes a few expert looks, it will get gusseted and burnt in. It's using DSI bushings to mount the factory sub frame to the new mount points Scott welded in. Certainly not for the weak hearted.

Since I am going through Camaro update withdrawals, Giff thought he'd cheer me up.

The block's ready to receive the internals and it's getting it's first coat of paint. I also got in the shaft mount lightweight rockers for it, so will run those up shortly.

Scott's making progress on the IRS. I will order rims soon.

Meanwhile, there's 29.5" of snow here... over the last 24 hours.

I vote for flares. I think you can get the spectre flares from Cambell Auto.

If I did flares, they would have to be complete. Those look like they only cover the top of the tire. I like the roadster shop ones.

The Roadster shop says they still have all the molds, just order up a whole body kit!
