If you can find them your parts may not be too far off.
I HATE THIEVES!!
If it is just locked up, Take a Drill, Big Chain and HUGE LOCK and Put the additional lock on top of the one there with your phone number attached to it.
Make it difficult for them to move without your, "Help".
I'm not in anyway a Lawyer, but slime balls can usually be dealt with in terms they understand. The last thing they want to do is call the cops.

If you crap is still there, or might be, call the owner of the building and tell them you are looking for a space to rent and want to see the building immediately. If his tenant is gone he'll probably be real interested in showing it to you.
If your stuff is in there, call the cops asap while the owner is there and get a record of everything being there, show the receipts you have, and make it a problem for the owner as well. He might just give you the parts right then to get you out of his hair.
The is no visible evidence that there was a body shop there. I kicked the back door open and went thru the entire thing, nothing there. No nuts, bolts, nothing. Some old cans of paint, That is about it.

I was/am paid up. I picked up the body and doors when he finished them so I could install the gauges, engine transmission, rear bumper lights etc. I am glad that I did not take the car back to him to have him install the fenders endura or I'd be in Jail right now as someone would have died. And, yes, they owe me for work I have paid for. And, yes, I should have known better, and yes, I have a Glock, LOL.
Sorry to hear this, You seem to have a WAY better attitude about it than I would. I hope you get everything back and then some. What are the chances that your car insurance can help you out with something like this? Just a thought.... Makes me wonder what my insurance will cover while the car is still in the project stages.
