If you want to do it right do it like Jakes said, cut it all weld in a new edge and be done with it, you will never need to touch it again. Cutting it at 10-2 is not the best look when you get on the ground and look under the car you will see the edge.

I will post some shots from the Nova we just did so you can see what we are talking about. The more room you can get the better because there are larger tires than the 345/30ZR19 and if you every want to go to a larger wheel this will be out of the way.

So I just went and laid on the ground and looked up at the 10 - 2 cut edge. I took a few shots.

Welding a bead is in a LOT of extra work including exterior panel work, and there is nothing UN right about trimming the edge.

Now on the front fenders......Entirely different story on this car. Yes we welded a bead because the strength was gone. On the rear quarter, tons of strength

Looks good Frank, appears to have plenty of room! I personally don't see the need to weld round bar in as it was a straight cut from GM. But I would like to see what Jake and Chris are talking about.

Who gets on the ground and looks at wheel lips? I'm a type A personality but a rear wheel lip wouldn't be my first priority. It looks goood to me....I think mine are similar. Not going to go out and crawl on my creeper to look with a flashlight though. LOL

What Frank "shows" looks great, compared to what Chris "says" how it wont look good,

I plan on trimming mine but I dont have paint, and I think I can get .5 with no worries,


one other thing 3M Panel bond, no welding required...........

I think eaither way will work great. The round stock sounds like a good option If I had thought about it a few months ago. But with me being so close to paint I think cuting and welding a few spots will be fine.
