Default re: Smooth firewall questions

I know this is resurrecting an old thread, but I've got a few questions about the smooth firewall BOS created for the Track Rat. In the Camaro Performers article, it looked like the master cylinder and steering column mounts were left intact, but they stick out about 1/8"-1/4", which would cause a bulge in the flat smoothing panel. Was this area cut out before the new panel was installed? Also, since the throttle pedal mount was cut off, how is the throttle pedal mounted?

Another question is about the wheelwell support braces. I like the complete smooth look without the braces, but what are the implications of not using the braces? The wheelwell seems a little flimsy without the braces attached.

Thanks,

Nathan

I am trying my hand at fab work. I have alot of welding and grinding to do. But to anwser your question, I cut the firewall, inner fenders and shock towers out of the car. I then boxed the shock towers in at the top. The boxes are for the upper control arms. I am going to finish welding and grinding then dip the complete car.
