Right after Katrina, our gas prices spiked to $2.99, but it's slowly been coming back down to where it is now, $2.43, which was 89 octane.

And we're still at $3 (minimum) for 87 octane. It has not dropped .01 here.

I just trade cars with the woman and give her my credit card when my car gets low... it's always about 10 cents cheaper in Austin, and the card has a low limit incase she decides to go shopping instead of going to work

we're roughly on $10.00/gallon now in Britain with talk of it going up again soon. We've even had blockades at the refineries & go slows on the motorways by action groups, causing tailbacks up to 10 miles to cause congestion to try & force the government to do something about the high prices

i think we as americans are spoiled by the cheaper prices..... i know there are several factors to why its about 200% less here, and really we have no room to complain about it. but when gas price spikes are generated by the media, before whatever event caused the spike, would ever have time to impact it... then we know we are gettin hosed so that the big companies can take advantage of the bad situations in order to make a lil extra profit. we bitch and whine because this hits everybody where it hurts most...in the wallet.
