295's on 9" wheels?

Putting a 295 on a 9" wide wheel will make for a very squirmy sidewall. If you ever want performance handling it's a bad idea. 275 is actually on the wide side for a 9" even though it fits and comes on many cars from the factory. I think the C5 Z06 is a good example 9.5" wide front wheel with a 265. Nice tight sidewall for a performance vehicle.
