My 2 cents...

The other day I ran into this thread on the other site. I like the idea in principle. That is, a one time, everyone dig out all that garage clutter, and put it up on the site for trade or sale. I wonder though if it wouldn't be a better implementation if we just created a temporary members only LatG Garage Sale forum alongside the Classifieds. We could suggest some date window for the event. Things could be sale and/or trade. Maybe the vendors could throw in some GP or other sales in there as well. Afterall, it ain't looking like us normal peeps are gonna be getting a bailout so we'll just have to take care of ourselves like always .

It is difficult to do this I'd think without it being too much like existing classifieds resulting in confusion and redundancy. However, if we were to make it more like a special event with a limited timeframe, members only setup then maybe that would generate enough excitement for it to be worthwhile. It might spur all those lurkers to go ahead and join up so they can see what we are dealing .
