Awesome project! Nice to see something other than a LSx Camaro in here.

I agree on the rear shock tower reinforcement. I've had two M3's myself and one of them blew out and had to be rewelded. The e36 is a great handling car and a great foundation for your project.

Ok the V8 kit showed up today good quality on the mounts and extremly detailed manual ..If you were considering this swap i higly recommend you buy the manual it is well worth the cost alone and is very very detailed (good job Matt).. I ordered the urethane mounts at a cost of $90 plus shipping from Ireland Engineering... when i get the bill ill update the running cost tally....here is the kit as it arrived..remember i opted for 1/4 inch aluminium motor mounts ..im the first test subject for these as i wanted to keep the weight down ..

Those motor mounts are slick. I'm VERY curious how this turns out! I had my Dinan M3 and put it through the paces, that car was amazing. I could run it at 9/10's and not break a sweat. The only issue was lack of power. With chassis' being so cheap now, this is the way to go.

Sweet, funny you should do this swap. I have the same swap I am finishing up in a mercedes. Its a carb'd 302 with a '99 t-5 and the 302 is a fresh rebuild with a nasty lil cam. Keep the pics coming.

The fun part would be taking it to a BMW dealer when it's done for an oil change.. lol

Cool project
