Its a Pontiac not a Camaro, no matter how much money you spend on a Pontiac its still a Pontiac. Camaros hold their value much better

I understand that Chris. But that is a pretty special Pontiac. I just thought it would bring much more, but then again I am no expert.

Hey I am not knocking the car in any way its a great car and the guy that won got the better end of the deal if Frank did not buy it back. I would have not sold it for that and bought it back. He lost big time if it really sold.

I have been building high end cars for many years and I alway tell guys the same thing. Unless you have more money then you know what to do with build a car that everyone wants so that if you go to sell it you can make some good money on it. If you want a Pontiac and have deep pockets then build the car you want. If you are looking to build a car and drive it for a few years and sell it buy what sells good.

When you build a car for yourself and enjoy it then the sell is not as important as Frank used this car to help him with advertisment for his shop over the last few years. It did very well for him so in the end he wins no matter what.

I am sure he would have wanted more but that is how auctions go.

Sorry -- I personally was shocked it sold for the 85K bid... but what the heck do I know.

Not the quality by the way -- but the 'looks' of the car... just weren't "pro touring" to me... So maybe it was too "tweener" -- between SHOW/CUSTOM/PRO-TOURING...

Sorry Frank -- I know it was your "build" -- but everyone has a bellybutton and an opinion.

The quality of the build showed = even on TV... and that says something about Franks work -- it was killer quality.

I didn't think you were knocking the car at all. It is hard to get the right "tone" of a conversation through text alone. I do get what you are saying about the value, the use of the car, the price and how the auction works. I also understand how the car helped get Prodigy noticed even more.
I was just thinking it should have brought more. If it was a sale to another buyer then they got a serious deal. I don't think I would have sold it for that either.

I just spoke to Frank. He's doing OK with it. Obviously he was hoping for quite a bit more -- but was prepared for less. He did mention that if it was a Camaro it would have pulled quite a bit more.

I agree with it only being a Pontiac, and they only bring so much.

But you're sort of contradicting yourself. If it's only worth so much, why would you want buy it back, pay all those fee's, and then be in the car even deeper then you were from the start? Where else would it bring more? All the pro-touring cars, and poser pro-touring cars were bringing good money at the event.

I think Frank will be happy. Its promoted his business, he got hooked up on a lot of the parts. I would bet he made money on the car. Now to the next project! Whats next!

If that really is a new owner they just robbed the bank on that buy...... Frank's work is excellent as usual and the car should have brought substantially more money than 85K

The motor in that car was worth north of the mid forties.... The Block was an aluminum IA II and the machine work done was amazing (had a conversation with Frank recently about that very subject)....

:-( guess it really is a sigh of the times......
