Making brake lines need some help

Sounds like your tube is being pushed back through the holder, Tighten the screws and or clamp it in a vice.

I borrowed the flaring kit and it looks like it has some miles on it. This morning I did a quick flare using the vise and it was pretty darn good. Thanks for your advise I plan to buy another one today.

After you cut the tube file it perfectly square and debur before you use the flaring tool. Also put a little lube on the tube or die end such as WD40

I found the tools with the wing nuts just don't do a good job at holding the tubing.

Mine you use a wrench to tighten. I have not had issues with this one slipping.

After screwing with the cheap flair tools on stainless lines I am ordering this.

I borrowed this kit from a buddy when I did my brake and fuel lines. This was so easy with this kit and the copper nickel lines. I was also able to do the GM quick disconnects for the fuel filter fitting. It was the 71475 kit.
