Not quite genius. The engine compartment might be black too, but it's not gloss like the exterior. That alone makes a difference, and yes, I think the engine stands out better in there.

There was an engine in there?

What's funny is that the only reason car companies used to paint the bays black was because it was cheap.. the same reason they paint them body color today.

Ummm.. no -- you guys seem to more importance into the color of an engine bay then I do..

I do think it's funny when people use a black car with a black engine bay to make a point that black is better. It's like when the guy showed me a black car with a black vinyl roof to convince me to keep the white top on my blue car. lol

It is what is.. I like color matched engine bays and I'm not really fond of black. Put those together and my choice (to me) was a no brainer.

I have to go snap some pics today (i didn't take that one) since we had to trim the inner fenders to fit around the suspension. I thought that's sorta important for the story.

My Fairlane will be here Saturday.. woo hoo.. this WILL be together by the 9th. Light at the end of the tunnel

Of the photo shoot? It's just for a "paint and body" cover deal..

When she hits the road there will be video.

Oh, Here's a better shot.. I don't regret going body color

Sweet shot. I definitely think you made the right choice going body color. That engine bay is CLEAN . Can't wait to see it in PHR .
