Ok.. on the way to the track the trans felt a bit off. the 1-2 shift was great but the 2-3 shift had a weird "flare" to it.

On the third run it let go on the launch. I had the rpms up to around 2600 and when I launched the engine just reved. I drove down the track and back to the line. It felt "ok" but when I drove it later it would barely move in the forward gears. Reverse is fine so it's not the input shaft.

I will call Hughes tomorrow for a new trans ... lol

best time was 12.51 at 111 with a 2.07 60-ft... I need more converter and I think my fuel delivery system might need a little loving. I'm about 5mph down on trap speed and that should knock that half second off I need.

Right now I need to fix my trans.. but that's hot roddin for ya.

As the old saying goes "If you not breaking stuff you're not really trying." lol

448rwhp and 111 dont sound right. How much does that sucker weight?? My mild 408sbc Camaro runs 12.40 at 112.3. 60 foots was 1.94(sucks). But I dont think I am anywhere near 448rwhp! Were you getting a ton of wheel spin?? Those ET streets should have hooked up for al least some 1.8's or so.
Either way kick ass for finally taking these project cars(howitzer) out and hitting the strip! This is what will make me keep buying the mags!

I agree with the converter choice being to tight. Sucker needs a 3500+ converter in it. Keep up the good work. Love the look of the car!

It isn't right.. the trans had issues so that hurt the et and the mph.. It bogged bad off the line and the 2-3 shift was crud..

I ripped the trans out yesterday and took it to Hughes today to get fixed. Should have the car back together by Monday. Oh, I upped the converter to a 3200. I know I could have gone bigger but I don't want to kill the streetability.

Car weighs 3460 without the driver... Should be in the high 11s and trapping around 115mph.

I'll get there

The real question is how much it weighs with the driver?

Right on Steve...some high 11's at 115 would be nice. Should be no problem once you get your 60 foots down. Keep us posted on the track updates. I am planning on taking my camaro back to the track for the second time in hopes of some better times. If I can cut a high 1.6 to bottom 1.7 60 foot it should run an 11.9 or so. Hope they prep the track this time.....

Hey...when are you gonna get Penny out on the track???

Hey...when are you gonna get Penny out on the track???

I figure I should be able to knock off half a second given the bad 60 ft times and failing trans. If not then at least I tried

Penny was going to go out the day I broke the Fairlane since the Fairlane was going to run on Friday. Rain forced me to delay Penny and run the Ford. Penny is for fun, but the Fairlane is for work and take priority.

Tomorrow the Camaro goes in for an killer alignment and some tuning. At that point she's ready for testing (will still need fine tuning to the shocks). We are trying to set up a track testing date sometime in December.
