How about some technical data. Like what size rim do I have to run in order to get an 8" wide rim with 5" backspace? I'm talking about the drop spindles by the way. No other drop spindle manufacturer will give that information and no one else seems to have put the information out their either. Curious, because I would love to put a tall drop spindle on my car with 17" or 18".

probird, the steering arm can't just be moved it would affect Ackermann and bumpsteer, you need to fit the wheel to your application, how much back spacing are you trying to use on an 8' wheel anyway?

I'm aware of the ackerman but it would seem that you could still move it in a little without destroying your ackerman but I'm no expert. Now the drop spindles have a huge problem with backspacing, it would be nice if the manufacturers would actually list the rim and backspacing that will fit there particular spindles instead of hiding it and telling people it's up to them to figure it out. Another wards, buy and just deal with what you get. I want to make this clear I am in no way slamming lhkustoms. I think there spindles are top notch, as is the rest of there products. Again it would just be nice to have a manufacturer step up and be honest. I personally, really don't believe it when the manufacturers tell people that they have no idea what will work on there product. Speaking entirely about the drop spindles. I personally have talked to Fatman and Heidts, both claim that they have no idea how much back spacing can be used on there spindles and both had no interest in finding out the answer. Neither would bolt on a steering arm and give me a measurement.

I'm not exactly sure if you can fit more than a 3-3/4" backspace on our 2" drop spindle I have tested it on a 17" wheel and clears but I'm not sure if you can go deeper with an 18" wheel. Can I ask why you are set on running a 2" drop spindle? You will see better results running our Tall non drop spindle and lowering the car with high performance lowering springs and can run as deep offset as you want. We have designed a 2 " drop spindle but have not produced a production run just a few prototype pairs for testing. I have to machine 50 pairs to be cost effective. If I produce less than 50 pairs it cost me more than I sell them for.

My bad, thought they were drop only. Thanks for the honest reply, you are the first to answer that question. It's great to hear that they are tall standard. I will be contacting you as soon as I finish the rear and get started on the front suspension. Doing my own triangulated 4-link presently.

Hey no problem we are the only company who manufactures a tall non drop spindle. Every other spindle mfg makes a tall drop spindle. Give me a call when your ready to order or if you have any questions in the mean time.

probird, I will be nice BUT! to say that manufacturers "hide" info or are not honest! because you want to reengineer your car but do not want to take basic measurements ! That my friend is out of line.
So let me help you take the blinders off and look at the BIG picture, first, it's your car YOUR RESPONSABILITY, two, why should the manufacturer take responsability in telling you what will fit your CUSTOM car?
Three, too many factors can affect wheel location, such as hub design, rotor hat, outer wheel opening, tire size (for some reason many people forget that one), wheel lip design, tire side wall design, camber setting.
All you need is a straight edge and a tape measure.

Everyone's entitled to there opinion and I don't make a habit out of telling people about how there opinions are out of line. Thanks for taking my blinders off. Yes, I see the universe so much clearer now. In my statement I never asked anyone to reengineer my car. Again, thanks to lhkustoms for answering my simple question and yes you will definately hear from me in the future

Trey Im sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner I have been very busy I will get you a photo of the rear ebrake bracket this week. I am out of town until wed. evening and I dont have any pictures of the bracket on my laptop.
