Ned,

I know how it goes with budgets, everyone's got one....

For better or worse, our stuff won't be on the inexpensive side, but we have not ignored costs either. Some of it we will be able to get done relatively inexpensively, but other parts there really is no way. We're doing a Level I suspension that will be very reasonable, but very different than the Level II. We also excluded certain designs partly because they would have been cost prohibitive.

Cost also gets affected by volume and some of the engineering costs are borne by the cars we are building as well. My primary objective was to have components and systems at the level we wanted for the cars we are building, and in most cases that stuff just didn't exist. The good news, is that none of it is being done on a one-off basis and that brings prices down on all sides.

On the engine side, we have a full engine development program for the 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi including normally aspirated and forced induction. We already have race quality rods, pistons and head and main studs for these motors. The rods we have now are good for 1,000+ HP and in time we can have more cost effective rods for lower power levels, but the lead times are significantly longer on those and we needed rods in the here and now.

We also have a stand alone engine management system in place that works with all the factory sensors on these motors and is totally programmable for normally aspirated and forced induction applications.

We're doing dyno testing on a single plane intake we've developed for the 6.1 and have already started work on a twin screw supercharger that will have an intake with integral air-to-water intercooler. The single plane intake should be available in May or June and the supercharger two to three months following.

Our initial engineering budget includes a twin turbo setup for these motors as well, and its still likely we will have that before year end, but we'll have to see on that one.
