The ways it's been going that might be good insurance.
Yeah Greg, you should get a Ford Focus or some other street car so you can run these events. You don't need no stinkin' race car to have fun. You said that new cars aren't as fun because they're too good, well, just buy some little POS. I think I'm just going to put a matched set of tires on my good 'ol reliable (knock on wood) daily driver and hit the road for a few out of state events in 2014. I'm getting too old for hot rodding and maintaining old crap I know we don't ever really attend these races to race, but you should try it sometime. You've picked up or at least counted a good number of cones for me. I feel like I should return the favor. It would also give us something else to tease you about, since the whole height thing has gotten a bit played out.

Does every thread have to be about Weld???

Matt, any thoughts on the new, more defined D&E portion of the rules? I still think "judging" carries too much weight (I would like to see 5 judged points instead of 10) but it is much better than what it was.

Don't scoff too hard. The car is already under construction in Texas. Pro-touring suicide door Continental with a 4-link, LS motor, and 200 feet of Tig Weld in the custom fabricated frame. I'll post some construction shots in Project Updates.

I think the new rules are good.

I'm curious if they will enforce this rule?

2014 Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) basic event rules
"16. Only the owner of the vehicle, immediate family member, or documented employee of
the builder-of-record may drive the entered vehicle in any USCA event or event
segments. The builder-of-record is defined as the person or shop that is responsible for
at least 75% of the total build. Build shop invoices & build pictures will serve as
acceptable documentation."
Not sure how they will enforce it.....

My other question is are these the same rules for OUSCI?

This should be fun. Looking forward to 2014 to get my new car out and hit a few of these. I think I'll be the owner / builder / driver.

Mark
