Pete...stupid questions here but I'm learning a lot.

What's up with that rough edge?
Is that a sign of poor work?
In the sanding of the fenders I noticed a lot of different colors. Is that different product being used?
How much is normally on a good paint job?

The rough edge is were they welded to fix door gaps, very common with these cars and after market panels and some factory panels

The different colors are all different materials that were used.

Each job is different ...but a good job...... not that much

Maybe if you were doing an old 50 MERC in your backyard

it looks like he skim coated the whole car ummmmmm errrrrrrr 2 or 3 times and forgot to block it between coats . good thing you decided to strip the car but she's lookin good now

pete nice work, let me know when you need the lid.

guys most high end cars get skim coated but his means 1/8 or under total thickness.

Hey Pete the cars looking good now. To bad you couldn't reuse all that bondo dust, just add water, you wouldn't have to buy bondo for a year . How is the sheet metal? The panels look pretty good. Thanks, Jon.

Pete...what do you guys use to strip a car like this? Sanding disk, stripping disks etc......

It looks pretty good under all the bondo....

From everything I've seen ALL the top cars get skim coated in bondo and then blocked down until there isnt much left... but theres a big differerence in refining the shape vs sculpting the car...

We used mostly 80 on a 8in stripping wheel for Tony's car.
