I was never a big advocate of this car when I first heard of it's development. I have always taken the stance that we should have refocused the millions that would be spent towards hybrid/battery technology. We already had the ZO6 and the base model Corvette, why a third? I won't argue that it's a phenomenal car and probably scary fast...but we had (and still have) other pressing issues facing our corporation that are much more important than having a Super Corvette.
If the Corvette, Corvette ZO6, and C5 Camaro aren't enough to
"generate excitement for the Chevrolet brand" then our problems at General Motors are a lot more complicated than first thought.
Again...it's a great car, but now was not the time for it.
Anyway...that's my $.13 on the subject.
